Tips for High School Seniors
What To Wear
Here are a few tips to help you choose the best clothes to wear in your portraits.
Choose a variety of outfits. It's a good idea to include both casual and more formal outfits in your senior portraits. If you choose a couple and let Mom choose one or two, then everyone is happy!
Long sleeves solids or very subtle prints are usually the most flattering in portraits. Busy patterns and loud colors can be very distracting and draw attention away from your face.
Medium to dark clothes look best on dark backgrounds while Medium to light colors look best on lighter colored backgrounds. Try not to mix darker and lighter colors in the same outfit.
Earth tones are best for outdoor portraits.
Traditional styles will stand the test of time and keep your portrait looking fresh for years to come.
Coordinate your outfit from head to toe and don't forget to bring shoes, socks, and jewlery for each outfit you plan to wear.
Darker clothes minimize body size.
You should wear your hair in your regular style. Guys should NOT have a fresh haircut. If you need a trim, have it done about a week before.
